Haiti and Angola strengthen their cooperation by signing two memoranda of understanding

During the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, H.E. Mrs. Raina Forbin, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Mr. Téte António, signed two memoranda of understanding with the aim of strengthening and diversifying cooperation between Haiti and Angola.

The first memorandum establishes a mechanism for regular political consultations between the two foreign ministries. This will allow both countries to deepen their dialogue on bilateral, regional, and international issues of common interest and strengthen their collaboration in international organizations and forums.

The second memorandum establishes an alliance between the Jean Price-Mars Diplomatic Academy of Haiti and the Venâncio Moura Diplomatic Academy of Angola, specifically for the training and professional development of diplomats, the exchange of experts, researchers and students, as well as the exchange of experiences and knowledge in diplomacy and international relations.

A third cooperation instrument between the two countries is currently being negotiated, reflecting their shared desire to further expand the scope of their partnership.

In accordance with the guidelines set by the Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, Haiti intends to strengthen its ties with its African partners and establish new alliances based on cooperation, solidarity and mutually beneficial interests.

Through this outreach to Angola, the Minister, H.E. Ms. Raina Forbin, continues the expansion of the Haitian diplomatic network through active diplomacy, open to new areas of cooperation and firmly at the service of the interests of the country and the Haitian people.
