The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was officially established by the Treaty of Chaguaramas

On July 4, 1973, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was officially established through the Treaty of Chaguaramas, with the objective of promoting economic integration, political cooperation, and social development among the Caribbean nations and territories that share common realities, challenges, and goals. This organization has maintained its relevance for over 52 years, consolidating its position over time and continuing its mission to promote a common market for the benefit of all Caribbean peoples, fostering unity, prosperity, and progress in the region.
